UNDEAD ESSAY

Un d e a d

The Making of UNDEAD showed the many challenges of producing a film, form make-up, special effects, time and conditions of shooting on location and making of crops. The first most challenging side of the production process the making of the film was getting the actors to look like real zombies on the low budget. The make-up artists employed found it very difficult to create the design of the Zombie for the actors, to shoot in the film. Designing and applying the making was a very time consuming process as the cast had to keep up to date with the rest of the film production.

The second most challenging aspect was shooting in very severe weather conditions, pouring rain, thunder and lighting and sometimes even till 1 in the morning the next day. They said “It was a very draining experience”, but with all the time, dedication and the right cast, it was well worth all the effort. As the crew had an extensive amount of film they had to edit with, it was very difficult to cut and edit as there was conflict in some decisions of which shots and scenes where used.

It was very dangerous at times of prop making with the fumes of melting plastic with no proper ventilation equipment and time schedules were a factor to. The overall film making process itself was very dangerous process; they even drove a car without a licence.

Each member had their own struggles with the film making. To produce such a great film, they obviously worked very, very had to produce the film and without the hard work and the wonderful task it would not have even been produced. All the sleepless nights, bad weather, stress they had gone through gave them more confidence day in and day out to produce the film
